The NAE calls on all evangelicals to pray for the people of Sudan as they approach national elections on April 11-13, the first such elections since 1986. The election of national leaders is the first of two major milestones established by the Comprehensive Peace Agreement signed in 2005, ending nearly two decades of civil war. The second vote, a referendum on independence in southern Sudan, is scheduled for January 2011.

Christians find themselves torn between the desire to uphold laws and the call to minister to the vulnerable. The NAE and World Relief will host an immigration forum on April 14 in Raymond, N.H., where church leaders can learn about immigration from a biblical perspective and have the opportunity to ask tough questions.

The NAE is joining a major interfaith event on the National Mall in Washington D.C. on Sunday, March 21, calling on lawmakers to pass meaningful immigration reform legislation this year. The event is expected to draw a crowd of 100,000 or more, including many evangelicals who have been inspired by the NAE’s resolution on immigration. This is a critical moment in the struggle for immigration reform this year.
