The Tracks
“A Biblical Response to the Immigration Debate"
Sponsor: World Relief

Voices on all sides of the immigration issue argue strongly for action and change. Christians find themselves torn between the desire to uphold the rule of law and the call to minister to the vulnerable. This workshop will move beyond the rhetoric and offer a biblically based response to immigration. With historical understanding and thoughtful policy analysis, the speakers will debunk myths about immigration and discuss concrete ways churches can engage in welcoming the stranger.

“Creation Care & the Renewal of the Church”
Sponsors: Evangelical Environmental Network/Renewal

Creation care is an important concern of younger evangelicals and many non-believers. This session will explore resources and topics that will help church leaders understand key issues, important initiatives, and biblical messages related to creation care.

“Evangelism: The Powerful Potential of Collaborative Outreach”
Sponsor: Mission America Coalition

Participants will discuss significant opportunities for effective collaborative evangelism including the foundation of united focused prayer, the priority of the ministries of caring and compassion, and various approaches to sharing the gospel lovingly and appropriately with diverse segments and affinity groups within the culture. Also, participants will hear more about specific opportunities that are available including internet evangelism, affinity evangelism, festivals and the “Loving America” initiative.

“Financial Challenges in Churches and Ministries”
Sponsor: Evangelical Council on Financial Accountability

Churches and ministries face numerous financial challenges. This track tackles these challenges and offers suggestions on how leaders can address them with integrity. Operating at a higher standard requires not just weathering the economic storm, but also ensuring that your church or ministry continues to operate above reproach.

“Living Micah’s Challenge: Acting justly and praying passionately to end extreme poverty.”
Sponsors: Micah Challenge/ONE

Extreme poverty is afflicting the global church, weakening communities, and plaguing many of God’s children. Many of our churches are deeply engaged in acts of charity and mercy to meet the profound needs of our world, but how can we “act justly and walk humbly with God” to end extreme poverty? Come hear what God is doing with evangelicals in Africa, Latin America, and Asia to end extreme poverty, and learn how you too can take the prophet Micah’s challenge to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.

“Sex, Life, and the Church”
Sponsor: NAE Generation Project

Promoting a culture that celebrates the sanctity of human life can be a daunting task for church leaders. One sometimes overlooked method is to devote attention to another widespread issue – how American evangelicals treat the gift of sexual intimacy. This session will center on how evangelical leaders are doing at understanding and addressing this fundamental issue and how we can do better.

“Preventing Nuclear Terrorism: Why Christians Matter”
Sponsor: Two Futures Project

Nuclear terrorism isn’t just the greatest threat to our national security: it would be an environmental, economic, and spiritual disaster affecting the whole world. Participants will learn the surprising new ideas underway to prevent this threat in the post-Cold War, post-9/11 era—and practical ways that American Christians can have a global impact.

“The Urgent Need to Strengthen Marriage”
Sponsor: Marriage CoMission

Participants will learn more about a national collaborative effort among many diverse groups that is directing individual and simultaneous efforts for building stronger marriages in local communities and to spur a marriage ministry in every church.
